// enter clock-in/out times to sum weekly hours
Enter clock-in and clock-out times for each day to automatically calculate daily and weekly total hours worked. Free browser-based time card tool.
Type clock-in and clock-out for each day you worked. Use 12h or 24h format.
Enter break minutes per day, or set a global default break in the settings bar.
Daily hours calculate instantly. Weekly totals, overtime, and optional pay are shown at the top.
A time card calculator lets you enter clock-in and clock-out times for each working day and automatically computes total hours, including break deductions and overtime. No spreadsheet needed β just type your times and get instant results.
You can enter times in 12-hour format (e.g. 9:00 AM, 5:30 PM) or 24-hour format (e.g. 09:00, 17:30). The calculator auto-detects the format, so you can mix both within the same timecard.
If your clock-out time is earlier than your clock-in time (e.g. in at 10 PM, out at 6 AM), the calculator automatically assumes you crossed midnight and adds 24 hours to the clock-out, giving you the correct 8-hour shift total.
By default, any hours beyond 40 per week are counted as overtime. You can change the overtime threshold in the settings row at the top of the calculator. Overtime hours are highlighted separately in the summary bar.
Yes β enter your hourly rate in the settings row and the tool will estimate your regular pay, overtime pay at 1.5Γ, and total gross pay for the week. Note this is an estimate and does not account for taxes or deductions.
Clicking Export CSV downloads a spreadsheet-compatible file containing your daily entries (day, clock-in, clock-out, break, hours) plus the weekly totals. You can open it in Excel, Google Sheets, or any CSV viewer.
No. All calculations happen entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No data is sent to any server. When you close the tab, your entries are gone unless you exported a CSV first.
A time card calculator is a digital tool that takes your daily clock-in and clock-out times and automatically adds up your total working hours β per day and per week. Instead of doing the mental arithmetic yourself (or wrestling with a spreadsheet formula), you simply type your start and end times and the math is done instantly. Break times are subtracted, overnight shifts are handled correctly, and overtime is flagged the moment you cross your weekly threshold.

A traditional time card records the start and end of each work period. Modern digital timecards add fields for break duration, which is subtracted from gross hours to give net hours worked. The sum of all daily net hours produces the weekly total β the figure your employer (or client) uses to calculate your pay.
Our calculator mirrors this structure: one row per day, with in-time, out-time, break minutes, and a computed hours column. The running weekly total updates live as you type.
The calculator accepts the two most common time notations:
9:00 AM, 5:30 PM, 12:00 PM09:00, 17:30, 00:00You can mix formats freely. For example, one row might use 8 AM and another 16:00. The parser normalizes everything before calculating.
Night workers and shift employees often clock in during one calendar day and clock out in the next. The calculator detects this automatically: if the out-time is numerically smaller than the in-time, midnight-crossing is assumed and 24 hours are added to the out-time before subtracting. This means a 10 PMβ6 AM shift correctly shows 8 hours, not a negative value.
Unpaid break periods must be subtracted from your gross hours to arrive at compensable time. Enter break minutes directly in each row, or use the Default break setting to pre-fill all rows with the same value β useful if your employer mandates a fixed 30-minute lunch for every shift. You can still override individual days if breaks vary.
In the United States, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires overtime pay at 1.5Γ the regular rate for all hours beyond 40 in a workweek. The default threshold in this calculator is 40 hours, but you can change it to match your jurisdiction or employment agreement. The summary bar always shows regular hours and overtime hours separately so you can verify at a glance.
Some states and countries use daily overtime rules (e.g. over 8 hours in a single day). This calculator currently applies weekly overtime only β consult your local labor authority for jurisdiction-specific rules.
Enter your hourly rate to see a gross pay estimate. The tool applies your regular rate to non-overtime hours and 1.5Γ to overtime hours, then sums the two. This figure is pre-tax and does not include deductions, bonuses, or shift differentials. Use it as a sanity check against your paycheck or invoice, not as a legal payroll calculation.
Once your week is complete, click Export CSV to download a comma-separated file containing all rows (day, in-time, out-time, break, hours) plus the weekly summary. This file opens in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc, and any text editor. It's useful for submitting timesheets to clients, storing records for tax purposes, or importing into payroll software.
