Six percentage calculators on one page — each solves a different type of problem. Results update live as you type, all processing runs in your browser, and nothing is ever sent to a server.
Use Card 01 "What is X% of Y?" — enter the discount percentage and the original price. The result is the discount amount. Then subtract it from the original price, or use Card 05 "Remove %" to get the final price directly.
Percentage change measures how much a value has increased or decreased relative to its original amount. Card 03 calculates this automatically — enter the old value in "From" and the new value in "To". A positive result is an increase; negative is a decrease.
Use Card 04 "X is Y% of what?" — enter the sale price as X and the remaining percentage (e.g. 80 if there was a 20% discount) as Y%. The result is the original price.
Card 06 takes the bill total, tip percentage, and number of people. It calculates the tip amount, the total bill including tip, and the per-person share. Change any value and the result updates instantly.
No practical limit — the tool uses JavaScript's native number type which handles values up to about 15–17 significant digits. For very large financial calculations, consider a dedicated accounting tool.
Results are displayed rounded to 6 significant figures by default, using a smart formatter that removes unnecessary trailing zeros. The copied value preserves full precision.
Percentages show up everywhere — shopping discounts, tax rates, exam scores, investment returns, tip splits, growth metrics. Yet most people still pause when asked to work one out quickly in their head. This tool puts six of the most common percentage calculations on a single page, each updating live as you type.
The classic percentage problem. Enter a percentage and a number, and the tool multiplies them for you. Useful for calculating a 15% tip on a $60 meal, finding 8.5% sales tax on a purchase, or working out what 30% of your monthly budget is.
The reverse: you know both numbers and want the percentage relationship between them. Useful for grading (you got 43 out of 50 — what percentage is that?), market share (your product sold 1,200 units out of a market of 8,000), or completion rates.
Enter an old value and a new value to see how much it changed in percentage terms. The formula is ((new − old) / |old|) × 100. A positive result means growth; a negative result means a decrease. Useful for month-over-month revenue comparisons, weight loss tracking, or stock price changes.
You know the result and the percentage, but need the original whole. For example: a jacket is on sale for $68 after a 20% discount — what was the original price? Enter 68 as X and 80 (100 − 20) as Y%. The answer is $85.
Toggle between adding and removing a percentage from a base number. Adding is useful for applying VAT or a markup; removing is useful for calculating the pre-tax price or applying a discount. The result updates instantly as you switch modes.
Enter a bill total, a tip percentage, and the number of people splitting the check. The calculator shows the tip amount, the grand total, and the per-person share. Useful at restaurants, for group orders, or any shared expense.
